Does the ‘Import Empties In Gated’ encompass the Productivity Report, and does it include street turn moves?

Overview

The “Import Empties In Gated” metric found in the Productivity Report is used to track how many import containers have been returned empty to the gate. This includes all import moves that reach a completed status, regardless of how the move was executed.

What Is Included in This Count?

Any import load that meets the following criteria will be counted:

  • The load type is an import (including standard drayage and street turns).

  • The load status is marked as completed.

  • The container has been in-gated empty (returned to a terminal or ramp).

Do Street Turn Moves Count?

Yes. Street turn imports are included in this count as long as they meet the same completion criteria. Once the return leg of a street turn is finished and marked completed in the system, it contributes to the “Import Empties In Gated” total in your productivity metrics.

Why It Matters

This ensures operational reporting is accurate and inclusive of all types of returned import containers — whether via traditional delivery or street turn reuse.
