How to Grant Customer Portal Permission to Mark Containers Empty

Modified on Tue, 3 Jun at 2:17 AM

Overview

You can give customers access to mark containers as empty via the PortPro Customer Portal by adjusting permissions for individual contacts in their organization profile. This feature is especially useful for managing returned containers efficiently.

Steps to Grant Permission

1. Access the Customer Profile

  • Go to Organizations > Organizations in the left-hand menu.

  • Find the customer and click the pencil icon to open their profile.

2. Navigate to the People Tab

  • In the customer profile, click on the People tab.

  • Find the contact who needs permission and click the pencil (edit) icon next to their name.

3. Enable the Correct Permissions

  • In the Permissions window:

    • Check the box for Loads (this allows access to load data).

    • Under Loads, check Dropped Container to allow the contact to mark containers as empty in the portal.

Note: You do not need to enable every sub-permission under “Loads.” Just Dropped Container is sufficient.

4. Save Your Changes

  • Click Update Employee to save and apply the permission settings.

What Happens Next

The selected contact will now be able to log into the Customer Portal and mark containers as empty from their view of assigned loads.
