Does the ELD tracking override the Mobile App tracking?

Modified on Sat, 31 May at 5:53 PM

Yes, the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) data takes precedence over mobile application tracking within the driver application. This is because ELD systems are federally mandated and designed to provide the most accurate and compliant records of a driver's hours of service (HOS). While mobile app tracking features can offer supplemental location or activity data, they are not a substitute for the official records generated by the ELD. Therefore, in all cases where discrepancies may arise, the ELD is considered the authoritative source for compliance and reporting purposes.
