Overview of Planner Move Updates
For users with the Move functionality enabled, the Unassigned section on the right side of the Driver Planner has been updated. These updates ensure move visibility is driven by scheduled appointments, regardless of load status.
The section now displays categorized cards based on the event type.
The count logic has been revised to show all moves requiring action on the selected day, not just the next move.
Card titles include Pickup, Delivery/Loading, Hooking, and Return.
Updated Unassigned Section – Card Types
1. Containers for Pickup
Moves with a Pickup event and either an LFD or pickup appointment scheduled on the selected day.
2. Containers for Delivery/Loading
Moves with a Delivery event and a delivery appointment scheduled for the selected day.
3. Containers for Hooking
Moves requiring a Hook event and a scheduled hook appointment for that day.
4. Containers for Return
Moves with a Return event that includes a cutoff, per diem LFD, or return appointment, regardless of load status.
New Logic for Return, Hook, and Multi-Move Visibility
Element | Previous Planner Logic | Moves-Based Planner Logic |
---|---|---|
Return Moves | Load must be dropped & marked ready with valid cutoff or LFD | Any Return move with a cutoff, LFD, or appointment is shown |
Dropped Cards | Used to flag dropped loads, separate from Hook | Dropped replaced with Containers to Hook, if hook appointment exists |
Move Visibility | Only next move shown | All moves scheduled on the selected day are shown |
Unassigned Table Inside Driver Click
When clicking on a driver row, the table that opens now reflects all moves that require action that day, consistent with the move logic above.
“Dropped” is replaced with Containers to Hook if a hook appointment exists.
Cards shown match the event type and appointment-based filtering logic.
Moves shown in this view also follow the all-moves-visible rule for the selected day.
Visual Example and Daily Use Case
Scenario: Dispatcher needs to schedule remaining hook and return events for Today.
Go to Planner, ensure Today is selected.
Open the Unassigned section and locate Containers to Hook.
Identify containers with hook appointments and assign them.
Repeat for Containers to Return — all showing valid return cutoffs or appointments.
Click on each driver to verify unassigned moves still needing action today.
