Support Moves in Mobile App

Modified on Sun, 1 Jun at 12:58 PM

Drivers interact with support moves in the mobile app in the same way they interact with container moves. The integration ensures all tasks, even those not involving a container, are visible and actionable.

Viewing Support Moves

  • Support moves appear in the move timeline, labeled as SUPPORT

  • Each move includes full address, date, and time details

  • The move type (e.g., Hook Chassis, Terminate Chassis) is clearly labeled

Performing a Support Move

  • Drivers receive a mobile notification or update in their app when a support move is assigned

  • Tapping the move opens all details, including map view, chassis number, and instructions

  • The system tracks movement statuses: Enroute, Arrived, and Completed

Reporting & Status

  • Support moves maintain timestamp records for operational tracking

  • Just like container moves, support actions are logged and reflected in reporting

Example of Support Moves in the Driver App

Scenario: A driver receives a support move for Bobtailing, followed by Hooking a chassis. These moves are displayed in the mobile app just like container moves.

1. Open the Driver App

Launch the mobile app and view the Assigned Load. The support move will appear in the list of upcoming tasks.

2. Identify Support Moves

Support moves are clearly labeled with a “SUPPORT” tag under the event type. Examples include:

  • Bobtail Start

  • Hook Chassis

  • Drop Chassis

  • Terminate Chassis

The system separates these tasks from container moves while maintaining the same interaction format.

Support moves are clearly labeled in the driver app and display location and chassis number fields.

3. View Location and Route

Each move displays:

  • Starting and ending locations

  • GPS tracking on the map

  • Estimated distance

  • Status indicators (Assigned, Enroute, Arrived)

Support moves include real-time location tracking, address details, and event-specific instructions.

4. Update Move Status

Drivers can update statuses the same way as with container moves:

  • Tap to mark Enroute, then Arrived, then Completed

  • Status updates are logged for dispatcher review

5. Confirm Completion

Once a support move is completed, it is removed from the active list and retained in move history for reporting.
